I know plenty of Bloggers have touched upon this before, but it’s not a bad idea to revisit raid consumables for Hunters especially since Lich King has been released and updated patches.

First let’s start with Ammo. It’s a no-brainer since we can’t leave home without it, but have you ever thought about saving yourself a little bit of gold by bringing two sets of ammo? Whether it’s arrows or bullets there are many types of ammo to chose from. I typically carry Timeless Arrows for trash mobs and I’ll swap to Saronite Razorheads for the bosses. Timeless Arrows are slightly better than Terrorshaft Arrows but require Honored with The Scale of the Sands faction. So don’t worry if you don’t have the required honor. Saronite Razorheads are crafted by Engineers, the mats aren’t terribly expensive (15 Saronite Bars) and you’ll get them in a box of 2000. The good news about the Razorheads is Blizzard has decided to reduce their mats come 3.2.

Next let’s talk about potions. For me, I find the Flask of Endless Rage works great. It lasts a full hour and won’t disappear after death. If  you really wanted to you could substitute a flask for the Elixir of Mighty Agility and the Elixir of Mighty Thoughts but it won’t boost your DPS to make it that noticeable. Plus flasks are a little easier on the money pouch.

Food is also important for raids. Sometimes raid members will be kind enough to share a Great Feast or Fish Feast. The stats are quite nice and BM would really prefer the Attack Power, but if you want a little more bang for your buck as Marks or Survival go for the Blackened Dragonfin. On my server a stack of 20 Dragonfin Fish will sell for 50g, give or take, so I’ll often fish for them myself. An added note, come patch 3.2 the recipe will only call for 1 Dragonfish. Yay!

Don’t forget your pet either they love food too.  He’s (or she) is a very important addition to your DPS so make sure to feed them with plenty of Spiced Mammoth Treats. The recipie calls for 1 Chunk o’ Mammoth which is easily farmed for in Stormpeaks between Brunnhildar Village and Dun Niffelem.

Another important thing to remember when you raid is your first aid bandages and health potions. For myself, I try to have at least 5 health potions on me but keep in mind that the Runic Healing Injector, also crafted by Engineers, allow you to have up to 20 potions in one slot. And for the Engineers out there, such as myself, 3.2 promises an increase of the amount we gain from our injectors by 25%. Good deal!  As for bandages, I always carry around 40 Heavy Frostweave Bandages at all times.

There you have it. The essentials for every raid and one of the keys to being a good raider. Happy Hunting!
