General Musings

So real life has taken a huge bite out of me and gobbled me up whole. I’m still kickin’ it just no time to really sit down and blog about stuff just yet. Why, oh why, must everyone want to sell their houses right now! Eeeeeeek

Not really, but it sort of feels that way. Very sorry for the lack of updates, but there has been a lot going on lately. First and foremost, I’ve spent the last six months training for the Houston Half Marathon which is this Sunday. A long challenging, mental, yet fun road and now it’s time to make that hard work pay off. This will be my first race and I know it won’t be my last. I am completely in love with running now.

The other thing that has changed is my work load. For those who don’t know, I’ve turned to the world of Freelance Art with how horrid the economy is. I managed to find some steady work as a photography touch up artist, but the other girl who worked with me has gone back to school. What does this mean? I now have double the work load. Not to mention that we are in the busy season and all my “me time” has been sucked up.

I still play Wow and love every minute of it, however n that time is being closely monitored too. My guild is doing pretty well in raid progression but even that has changed a little. At one time we had 4 raiding hunters, and now we are down to one…me. While I don’t mind the lack of competition of  the Hunter loot, I’ll admit it is a little lonely in my guild’s Hunter Chat. Armored Justice is looking to recruit one hunter.

Finally, there has been careful consideration about moving back to my old blog home on wordpress. Granted I won’t have as much freedom as a self-hosted site, but I think I need to trim the spending fat wherever I can. More on this later.

That’s it for now. Enjoy your endeavors and happy hunting.

Lately the Warcraft Life feels a bit like a mad dash. The grand, 4.0.1 patch lands tomorrow and things will be forever changed. Well, there will be no dragon bursting from the center of the world, but Hunters will officially be off the mana system.  While I should have taken full advantage of the PTR, I decided to focus my time elsewhere.

I decided to treat myself to a new set of wheels on my birthday.

The original plan was to save up till a certain gold quota was met but I couldn’t wait. Plus I wanted the Achievement to be posted on my Birthday. Luckily I wasn’t too far off from the goal I wanted to hit but I will say playing the Auction House game is pretty tough.  Sure I’ve battled my way through instances, end bosses and even the Horde but talk about cut-throat. Plus I also feel that the economy on my server is a bit borked since Hellscream is a pretty heavy Ally server. I’ve tried my luck at selling Enchants and Gems only to find them returned after a 24 hour period. The only reliable thing for me are the dailies. Ugh.

If any of you are on a gold grinding endeavor, I hope your luck is better than mine.

Btw, how awesome would it be if Hunter’s pets rode in the side car.  Ahem…Blizzard… make it happen.

Because of this little guy I’ll be taking a few weeks from blogging (not that I haven’t done that already) to raise our new puppy. There are a lot of exciting things happening in WoW now that Cataclysm is in Friends & Family Alpha. The zones look amazing and I really can’t wait to see more of the female worgen forms. 😀

On a raiding note, my guild had our second defeat of the Lich King last week too. This puts us very close to farm mode, so we decided to take our raids up a notch by throwing in some Hard Modes – which I find very fun. Hope ya’ll are still enjoying WoW and if you’re still tromping through ICC, best of luck in the raiding endeavors.  Look for some new posts in a few weeks.

Sorry for the lack of AFK-ness, but I have a really good reason for it. This past Wednesday I had surgery to remove a cyst on my ovary that was discovered back in July. Everything went well, and I’m gradually starting to feel like my old self. I took the week off from raiding but my guild seems to be back on progression. After weeks of a mental hump on Professor Putricide we finally downed him. Yay! I believe last night they spent working on Sindragosa but I have yet to hear any updates on that fight yet. Before my surgery our guild best was 19%, I believe. So we were very close.

Thanks to all of you who stop by to check out my blog. I hope you enjoy what you read and keep coming back for more!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I was socked with a heavy duty cold that is kicking my butt. I’ve been to the doctor so I have medication to help combat whatever is brewing in my sinuses. Hopefully I’ll shake this soon. In the mean time I hope you all are enjoying the recent patch.
